| Eastern Cycle Performance was formed in 1978 as
a professional summer motorcycle/winter drag racing, oval racing and consulting
enterprise. Bringing together the combined talents of Freddie Klies and the teams
principal participants, ECP quickly built a reputation for winning races on behalf of their own team. Team ECP along with it's current principals competed then in summer motorcycle dragracing, fall snowmobile grassdrag racing and winter snowmobile ice drag racing. The success of the team resulted in a huge request from other racers for the services and products that the team used. This above average interest in the talents of the team turned into what is now known as "Eastern Cycle Performance" today. Freddie Klies has had the distinction of having set records on dragbikes back in the 70's in the now defunct NMRA and has a past successful record in the mega-dollar Pro Stock class placing 8th, 7th and 6th in the world rankings in 1993, 1994 and 1995 respectively. Long known as an innovator, Freddie Klies has engineered and built all the bikes he has ridden in competition and has enjoyed much admiration from his fellow competitors for being an intelligent engineer with his concepts bringing much success to himself as well as his long list of impressive customers. His customers have enjoyed success aboard ECP built dragbikes and many past World Championships have been won in AMA/PROSTAR competition in various classes. Several engineering and appearance awards have gone to ECP prepared dragbikes throughout the years and we are very proud of the customers that have helped bring us to this level. Snowmobile dragracing...what can be said? If you are an avid racer or performance snowmobile enthusiast, The name Eastern Cycle Performance is a household name. Countless high profile drag races have been won by Freddie Klies over an illustrious career on grass and ice. He enjoys the likes of some of the most prestigious names in the sport using the companys' products and services and has an impressive list of customer wins to his credits. The success of ECP and the companys' customers is rich with heritage. Innovative engineering has brought his chassis fabricating, suspension building and race engine building to the forefront of the class for serious performance enthusiasts. It is not an uncommon thing for ECP drag suspensions to be under the entire field of finalists at many races throughout the country. Freddie set a world record in 1997 for asphalt snowmobile drag racing at Lebanon Valley Raceway in New York and has since performed exhibition runs for AMA/PROSTAR racers at Indianapolis Raceway Park and Gainesville Raceway in Florida. His asphalt snowmobile racing efforts have been exploited also with IHRA. His products and services are respected as some of the finest and most intelligently designed and engineered anywhere in the world. An ongoing Research and Development program is structured at Eastern Cycle Performance to bring customers an ever increasing product and service line. A newly expanded CNC machine shop done with friend and partner Allan Civitate (a former motorcycle dragracer) has brought our product line into the new millenium and beyond.
